Town of Oak City Meeting Schedule Changes

Public Notice is hereby given that the Town of Oak City will be changing the regular meeting schedules for the Oak City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission beginning August 2026.  The Oak City Town Council will conduct its regularly scheduled meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.  Public Hearings, Special and Emergency meetings are held as deemed necessary by the City Council.

Oak City Planning and Zoning Commission will conduct their regularly scheduled meetings on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Special meeting and public hearings are held as deemed necessary.  Meetings may be cancelled if there are no business items for discussion or action.  The revised meeting schedule beginning August 2026 will be as follows:

August 19 & 20, 2026

September 16 & 17, 2026

October 15 & 21, 2026

November 18 & 19, 2026

December 16 & 17, 2026

The Town of Oak City Board of Adjustments will hold meetings as needed.  Each meeting will be given proper notice.

All meetings are held in the Conference Room of the Oak City Town Hall located at 30 W Center Street Oak City, Utah. Public participation in our meetings is always encouraged.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Oak City will be holding a Public Hearing in the month of July regarding Ordinance 2026-02, Town of Oak City Code – Updated Subdivision Code.

The Town of Oak City Mayor and Town Council shall hold the Public Hearing on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 7:45 pm.

The location of the Public Hearing is the Oak City Town Hall, 30 W. Center Street, Oak City, Utah.

The purpose of this meeting is to receive input from the public with respect to the adoption of Ordinance 2026-02, Town of Oak City Code – Updated Subdivision Ordinance.  The proposed amendments include revisions to subdivisions requirements related to geotechnical reports, County Health Departments approvals, hazard mitigation studies, will serve letters and title reports.  The amendments also establish additions regarding water rights, fire protection, utilities and waiver requests.  All members of the public are invited to attend and participate.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Oak City will be holding a Public Hearing in the month of July regarding the submission of an application to the Permanent Community Impact Fund Board (CIB) for funding assistance for the development of a new culinary water well.

The Town of Oak City Mayor and Town Council shall hold the Public Hearing on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 7:45 pm.

The location of the Public Hearing is the Oak City Town Hall, 30 W. Center Street, Oak City, Utah.

The purpose of this meeting is to receive input from the public regarding the Town’s proposed application to the Permanent Community Impact Fund Board (CIB) for financial assistance to develop a new culinary water well.  The proposed project is intended to improve the reliability, capacity and long-term sustainably of the Town’s culinary water system and to help meet the current and future water needs of the Oak City residents.  All members of the public are invited to attend and participate.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on April 16, 2026, the Mayor and Town Council of Oak City (the “Issuer”), adopted a resolution (the “Resolution”) declaring its intention to issue its Parity Water Revenue Bonds (the “Bonds”) pursuant to the  Bonding Act, Title 11, Chapter 14, Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended and to call a public hearing to receive input from the public with respect to the issuance of the Bonds.

The Issuer shall hold a public hearing on May 21, 2026 at the hour of 7:45 p.m.  The location of the public hearing is in the Town Office, 30 West Center Street, Oak City, Utah.  The purpose of the meeting is to receive input from the public with respect to the issuance of the Parity Water Revenue Bonds in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000 and any potential economic impact to the private sector from the construction of culinary water system improvements, including improvements to existing well, installation of new meter, pipeline, SCADA improvements and addition of an ASR system, together with related improvements (the “Project”) to be funded by the Bonds.  All members of the public are invited to attend and participate.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Oak City Mayor and Town Council shall hold a Public Hearing in conjunction with the regular Town of Oak City Board Meeting on Thursday, December 18th, at 7:30 pm. The location of the Public Hearing is the Oak City Town Hall, 30 W. Center Street, Oak City, Utah. The purpose of this meeting is to receive input from the public with respect to the adoption of Ordinance 2025-06, Adoption of the International Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Code.  This ordinance provides regulation and governance of the mitigation of hazard to life and property from the intrusion of wildland exposure, fire from adjacent structures, and prevention of structure fires from spreading to wildland fuels in town.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE OAK CITY TOWN

The OAK CITY TOWN is proposing to increase its property tax revenue.

The OAK CITY TOWN tax on a $343,000 residence would increase from $84.52 to $96.78, which is $12.26 per year.

The OAK CITY TOWN tax on a $343,000 business would increase from $153.66 to $175.96, which is $22.30 per year.

If the proposed budget is approved, OAK CITY TOWN would receive an additional $3,525 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, OAK CITY TOWN would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 13.79% above last year’s property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth.

The OAK CITY TOWN invites all concerned citizens to a public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed tax increase and to explain the reasons for the proposed tax increase. You have the option to attend or participate in the public hearing in person or online.
